London

This will be a boring entry. I am now in London. Nothing has happened yet (except for a morning nap). Currently waiting for Mark to come back from work, and we hit the town!!

Things are already "different" here. For example:
  1. The ceilings in this place are hugely tall. And the windows are huge, too!
  2. The kitchen in this apartment is a separate room, with a door
  3. The shower does't have a full screen door or shower curtain. I sense the distinct risk of serious shower water spillage.
  4. There is a washer but no dryer...
Oh, and everything is^)"*(!*&"$! expensive. Think of what you'd expect to pay for something in Toronto, add 50%, and then realize the number you're arriving at is actually denominated in pounds. So, for example, taking the Heathrow Express from the airport (to save an hour or more of pain & misery on the tube) cost somewhere over $50 CAD. "WTF MATE?" In Toronto, that's what an airport taxi would charge to take me nearly anywhere in the city. Not a soddin' commuter train!

I'm done ranting. Time to rave. British Airways rocks. The airplane was immaculate, the service was great, and the food was pretty tasty. Can't complain. This is in stark contrast to, say, American Airlines, that adds misery to the flying process by charging you $6 USD for a a sandwich that you'd feel guilty giving to a starving kid in Somalia, since even they deserve to eat well from time to time.

More later.

Comments:
Glad the flight was to your liking. Although I have never been to England, I could have told you that stuff costs an arm, a leg and your firstborn child (I know people that live there, and other people that have lived there). Enjoy the night on the town!
